Abstract: Objective: To investigate and analysis the current maternal hospital discharge readiness and its influencing factors in hospitals in Hunan province, in order to improve maternal discharge readiness. Methods: Three hundred and ninety maternity patients were investigated with a general questionnaire and a discharge readiness questionnaire. Results: The total score of readiness was (155.87±28.05). Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that studied in pregnant women school, received health education by nurses in hospital, plenty of maternal milk, and healthy baby were main influencing factors (P<0.05), which could explain 51.5% variation of the maternal hospital discharge readiness. Conclusion: The maternal discharge readiness in Hunan province was at a high level. But maternity patients' knowledge of disease and perception of their own health conditions were not ideal. Nurses should pay attention to these influencing factors and take relevant measures, in order to further improve the maternal hospital discharge readiness.
