Abstract: Objective: To investigate the level and related factors of mother's care needs in NICU. Methods: A total of 110 mothers from the NICU in a level 3 hospital in Zunyi city were investigated with general information questionnaire and Chinese version of NICU-FNI. Results: The mean score of mother's needs was 107.30±8.03, and it was at a moderate level. Multiple linear regression analysis showed that the fertilization way, whether with regular birth inspection, age of admission, the diagnosis, and the severity of disease of children were the main related factors of the mother's needs (P<0.05). Conclusions: The mother's needs were generally at a moderate level, and the specific needs changed depending on the delivery process and the health of the children. Assessing the needs of mothers objectively, and providing individualized nursing care are important to improve the supports of mothers to the children's treatment, and to improve the family-centered care service model for children in NICU.
