Abstract: Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of severe vision loss in older adults. Along with the irreversible loss of vision, patients may suffer emotional disorders, daily life difficulties, etc. All of these will lead to patients' quality of life decline. Social psychological intervention plays a vital role in alleviating patients' psychological distress and social dysfunction, and improving their quality of life. In this paper, the authors summarized the methods, applications and effects of psychosocial interventions in patients with AMD. It could provide reference for improving the patients' quality of life in future.
