Abstract: Hospice care combines medicine and humanity, and requires nurses to integrate scientific spirit and humanistic spirit, so that they are able to deliver holistic care that meets physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of hospice patients and their family members. Hospice/Palliative nurses should possess four humanistic qualities including being considerate, being caring, being compassionate, being capable. Humanistic caring helps to achieve goals of hospice care effectively, enhance relationship between healthcare providers and patients, and promote social civilization and medical development.
