Abstract: Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) has the characteristics of occult onset, high morbidity, high disability, high mortality, and low diagnostic rate. VTE not only endanger the lives of patients, but also increase medical expenses of their families and government. Prevention and management of VTE have become a global issue. This paper reviewed the prevention and control system of venous thromboembolism, which included the establishment of the management system, risk assessment and preventive methods, information reporting system, health education and discharge management.
