Abstract: Objective: To explore the undergraduate nursing students' perspectives on the phenomenon of online autonomous learning in the new media and provide reference for better use of new media in nursing education. Methods: Eighteen undergraduate nursing students were selected by purposive sampling. Data were collected by in-depth interviews and analyzed using phenomenological procedures. Results: Undergraduate nursing students' experience towards the online learning included flexibility, loneliness and the lack of network resource. Conclusion: The results of this study suggest that educators and network builder should promote the development of online education, increase interactions during learning, develop an evaluation system of online learning and strengthen the management of network resources, so as to improve the application of new media in the field of nursing education.
