Abstract: Objective: To explore the adaptive challenge of patients with Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) during therapy, in order to provide reference for continuous nursing care. Methods: It was a phenomenological study, and a total of 22 cases were recruited and recieved with semi-structural interviews. Results: Four themes were generalized including requirements for control, conflicting emotions, social relationship disorder, and the unbearable pressure of treatment. Conclusions: We should learn advanced rehabilitation model and intervention measures from foreign countries, develop suitable intervention project for China's, and extend the role of healthcare providers from technical experts who provide care for patients to experts who manage disease with patients and help them and their family to develop adaptive skill thus ultimately improve the quality of life of patients with AMD.
