Abstract: Objective: To explore the characteristics of Chinese clinical teaching mode for pediatric Master of Nursing Specialist, and to lay the foundation for the training of high level application talents of pediatric nursing specialists. Methods: We used three level clinical teaching mode for pediatric Master of Nursing Specialist for a period of 6 months intervention in a certain university hospital from the management system, organizational structure, teaching plan, content and methods, the construction of teachers, evaluation criteria and other aspects, and tested the core competence before and after the intervention through the questionnaire survey. Results: The core competence score of pediatric master of nursing specialist increased from 144.94 (33.30) to 167.88 (25.32). Clinical nursing, critical thinking / scientific research, education/consulting were the largest increasing dimensions. The total score and dimension scores of clinical nursing, critical thinking/scientific research, education/ counseling, professional development, interpersonal relationship dimensions had significant difference before and after intervention (P<0.05). Conclusion: The establishment of holistic clinical teaching mode can effectively promote the core competencies of pediatric master of nursing specialist, especially in clinical nursing, critical thinking / scientific research, and education/ counseling.
