Abstract: Objective: To investigate nursing informatics competencies and its influence factors of higher vocational nursing students. Methods: A total of 280 nursing students were selected by using stratified sampling method and investigated by the questionnaire of nursing informatics competencies. Results: The total score of nursing information ability was 80.68±14.59, the average score of basic computer knowledge and skills was 3.18±5.55, 2.18±0.68 for applied computer knowledge and skills, and 3.27±0.87 for clinical informatics attitudes. The grade, studying computer before university, duration of studying computer, computer grading and practicing in hospital were the influence factors of nursing informatics competencies. Conclusion: The nursing informatics competencies of higher vocational nursing students were at low level. Schools should strengthen nursing informatics education in order to improve nursing informatics competencies of nursing students, and to improve their adaptive capacities to nursing practice.
