Abstract: Objective: To develop nursing competency evaluation indicator system of gerontological nurses in China through Delphi technique. Methods: After a comprehensive literature review, theory analysis and panel discussion, the nursing competency evaluation indicator system for gerontological nurses was developed by two rounds of expert consultation. Results: The nursing competency evaluation indicator system for gerontological nurses composed of 6 first level dimension index (nursing concept, critical thinking, nursing practice, communication and cooperation, education and training, and professional development), 15 second level indicators and 54 third level indicators. The authoritative coefficient was 0.825. The coordination coefficient of Kendall coordinate W was 0.196-0.263 (P<0.01), the index of content validity is greater than or equal to 0.78, Conclusion: The development of competency assessment indicator system for gerontological nurses was scientific and reliable. It can provide evidence for the training and evaluation of gerontological nurses.
