Abstract: Objective: To explore the impact of nurse-physician collaboration and job engagement on nurses' work performance, and to establish a model of their relationships. Methods: Totally 309 nurses in a tertiary Grade A hospital in Beijing were recruited and investigated by Nurse-physician Collaboration Scale, the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale, and Work Performance Scale. Results: Both nurse-physician collaboration and job engagement had a direct and positive impact on nurses' work performance. In the meanwhile, job engagement also had a mediating effect between nurse-physician collaboration and nurses' work performance. Conclusion: Nursing administrators should take effective measures to promote the collaboration between nurses and physicians in order to enhance nurses' job engagement and work performance.
