Abstract: The Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic has swept the world, and our country has taken a series of decisive measures. The prevention and control of the epidemic has achieved major strategic results, and it has turned from an emergency state to a normal state. As the main force in the fight against the epidemic, nurses have made outstanding contributions to winning the fight against the epidemic, and actively shared Chinese nursing experience in fighting the COVID-19 with global nursing colleagues, winning wide praise. However, the current global COVID-19 epidemic is still spreading, due to the need to prevent imported epidemics from abroad and prevent domestic epidemics from rebounding, the situation of our country's epidemic prevention and control is still challenging. After experiencing the challenges of the sudden COVID-19 epidemic, while summing up successful experiences, we also have to consider the professional value of nursing work. This article discusses the aspects of improving nursing emergency management capabilities, strengthening the training of specialist nurses, focusing on the training of nursing students in colleges and universities, improving the nursing research capabilities required for epidemic prevention and control, comprehensively carrying out health science popularization, and vigorously promoting the construction of intelligent nursing, and provides ideas for the development of nursing profession under the situation of normalized COVID-19 prevention and control.
