Abstract: Objective: To explore the effects of specialist nursing group on prevent falls in inpatients. Methods: A specialist nursing group leaded by geriatric specialist nursing team was set up to manage inpatients' falls. They established and implemented the working system about how to prevent inpatients' falls. A direct network report system to record the adverse events was set up.The group members would visit the department which report the adverse event within 24 hours, then help them to conduct root causes analysis and make out the action plan. The group members also chose some typical cases to share the experience in hospital meeting quarterly. Results: The risk assessment of falls by clinical nurses was more accurate than before. Conclusion: The specialist nursing team responsible for the adverse events was useful to help clinical nurses preventing the inpatients' falls effectively. It was also benefit to continuously improve the hospital management level of preventing falls.
