Abstract: Objective: To investigate the effect of a training and management method on clinical research design ability and thesis writing ability of operating room nurses. Methods: The research group investigated and analyzed the clinical research design ability and thesis writing ability of operating room nurses by using Nursing Research Capacity of Self-Evaluation Questionnaire. Then, nursing managers adopted targeted training management method. We compared nurses' scientific research design ability, thesis writing ability, and successful publication rate of nursing research papers in 2014 with those in 2015. Results: By using the targeted training management method, nurses' nursing research design ability and thesis writing ability were improved significantly (P<0.05). The successful publication rate of nursing research papers was improved significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion: The targeted training management method can effectively improve operating room nurses' clinical research design ability and thesis writing ability.
