Abstract: The adequate pain assessment and management in Alzheimer's patients show high value on improving their life quality. This article has summarized the topic from two aspects: the pain assessment tools for Alzheimer's patients and the pain management. The pain assessment tools mainly include the self-descriptive assessment tools and the observers' pain assessment tools. The pain management consists of the exact evaluation, drug odynolysis, updating nursing model, home care and non-drug odynolysis. The effort of this review article aims to provide the reference and evidence for Alzheimer's patients pain assessment and management.
