Abstract: Objective: To decrease high return-cleaning rates of first-time cleaning of equipments in Central Supply Service Department (CSSD) through Quality Control Circle activities, to improve work efficiency, and to reduce costs. Methods:We established quality control circle team to investigate current situation, to analyze root-causes, to set goals, to formulate corresponding measures, to organize the implementation, to evaluate results, and to draw up standard cleaning flow. Results:The return-cleaning rate of first time cleaning was decreased from 14.87% to 4.97% for Obstetrics and Gynecology's equipment in CSSD and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion: Quality Control Circle activities could not only reduce the rates of return-cleaning rate of first-time cleaning of equipments but also reduce cost, improve working efficiency, and improve the nursing staffs' quality control and initiative problem-solving consciousness.
