Orthopedic is reflected in holistic care. The patient is taken care from the onset of an emergency case to rehabilitation, from being at the hospital up to his return to the community. In addition to the medical specialist, orthopedic specialist nursing support for the patient's care must not be missing. To maintain the professional standard of orthopedic care, the most important is the need to receive high-quality orthopedic nursing care training to keep up with the pace of scientific advancement. Orthopedic specialty nurses receiving over the years a systematic training from the foundation to specialist level should have their knowledge and skill more solid and thorough. They should have their professional mission and confidence to make them sensitive to the service needs innovation. Hong Kong orthopedics specialty nurses carry out cross-boundary advisory services and patient care in outpatient clinics, demonstrating the mature development of the orthopedics care. To offer better service to the internal partner (doctors) and the external customers (patients), orthopaedic nurses must equip themselves with the up-to-date knowledge and skill that patients will recover from disable eventually.
