Abstract: Objective: To describe the knowledge, attitude, and practical behavior of diabetes prevention among a sample of high-risk groups with type 2 diabetes, and to provide the evidence for further establishing comprehensive health intervention. Methods: A survey using a self-developed type 2 diabetes prevention knowledge-attitude-practice questionnaire (KAP) was conducted. The sample included 229 adults, who were at risk of type 2 diabetes and involved in the physical examination at a tertiary hospital from July to December, 2016. Results: The total score of KAP was 53.16±8.78, and 77.3% of sample were with less than 60 points. There were statistically significant differences in the score of KAP of sample with different ethnicities, educational levels, occupational characteristics and family histories (P<0.05). Conclusion: The population with high risk of type 2 diabetes were at a low level with the knowledge, attitude, and practical behavior of diabetes prevention. It is necessary to carry out targeted health education to reduce the incidence and development of diabetes.
