Abstract: Objective: To analyze the effectiveness of multidisciplinary cooperation on preventing Central Line-Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI), in order to provide reference for CLABSI prevention and control management. Methods: January to December 2020 was selected as control period, January to December 2021 was selected as intervention period. In the control period, special group of infusion therapy carried out catheter maintenance, Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC) catheterization training and assessment periodically. Infection control department carried out hand hygiene training and monitored CLABSI dynamically. In the intervention period, a multidisciplinary cooperation team was built followed by retrospective analysis of CLABSI events and investigating compliance of CLABSI prevention as to target the root causes. Tasks and steps of each discipline and department in reducing CLABSI were developed and carried out targeting key aspects (key departments, Central Venous Catheter catheterization and catheter maintenance). The incidence of CLABSI and the compliance of CLABSI prevention measures were monitored and reviewed, dynamically. Results: The incidence of CLABSI in 2020 and 2021 years were 0.115‰, 0.138‰ respectively. The incidence of CLABSI increased up to 0.251‰ in the second quarter. After multidisciplinary collaborative intervention, the incidence of CLABSI in the third and fourth quarters compared with the second quarter decreased by 53.4% and 51.4% respectively. The total compliance of CLABSI prevention management, the total compliance of Central Venous Catheter catheterization measures, and the total compliance of PICC maintenance increased significantly (P<0.05). Conclusion: Multidisciplinary collaborative intervention can significantly improve the total compliance of CLABSI prevention measures, reduce the incidence of CLABSI, which can provide reference for CLABSI prevention and control management.
