Abstract: The assessment and management of Malignant Fungating Wounds (MFW) in cancer patients are critical to improve their quality of life. In this article, we reviewed the assessment and management of MFW. The assessment included patients' and caregivers' assessment, and local wound assessment. The assessment tools included Toronto Symptom Assessment System for Wounds, Wound Symptoms Self Assessment Chart, TELER System and Malignant Fungating Wound Assessment Tool. Wound management mainly included malodour, pruritus, exudate, bleeding and pain management. It could provide reference for wound specialist nurses, and promote the development of wound specialist nursing in China.
