Abstract: Objective: To analyze the risk factors of venous thromboembolism associated with peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) among cancer patients, and to provide theoretical basis for prevention venous thromboembolism associated with PICC among cancer patients. Methods: We searched the related papers from the Web of Science, PubMed,Cochrane Library, OVID EBM Reviews, CNKI, Wan Fang Databases, CBM and VIP. The Stata 12.1 software was used to conduct the meta-analysis. Results: Six studies were included in the study. The sample size was 1277 with 253 cases in venous thromboembolism group and 1024 cases in control group. The incidence rate of venous thromboembolism associated with PICC was 19.81%. Meta-analysis showed that the risk factors were history of chemotherapy, diabetes, hypertension, COPD,and less activity. Conclusion: The risk factors of venous thromboembolism associated with PICC among cancer patients are history of chemotherapy, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and less activity.
