Abstract: Objective: The management system of reducing the falls in elderly patients with dementia was explored by analyzing their injury degree after falling down. Method: A total of 42 cases of elderly patients with dementia in our hospital from January 2008 to December 2014 were analyzed through the method of the purpose of sampling. Result: The incidence of falls in elderly patients with dementia was 0.94%, which was 0.88% in male patients, and 0.99% in female patients. Fall injury degree l after a merger with the patient's age, sex, the number of chronic diseases, ability of daily living, fall history, risk of falls, agitation, accompany and falling time was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusion: Elderly patients with dementia due to disease itself factors, are more likely to have a fall, and the injury degree was more serious after falling down. Therefore,to establish a sustainable,effective and scientific management system to prevent the fall of elderly patients with dementia can ensure the safety of patients.
