Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of psychiatric nurses' self acceptance and personality characteristics on conflict mode. Methods: Totally 813 psychiatric nurses in six psychiatric hospitals in Shandong province were recruited and completed the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ), The Self Acceptance Questionnaire, and Conflict Mode Instrument (MODE).Results: The subscale of Extraversion was statistically different in each dimension of conflict mode and had some predictive effect on conflict mode (P<0.01). The subscale of Neuroticism was statistically different in the dimension of accommodation(P<0.05). The subscale of psychoticism was statistically different in the dimensions of competition and accommodation and had some predictive effect on conflict mode (P<0.01). Self acceptance was correlated with personality characteristics and conflict mode. Conclusions: Self acceptance is significantly correlated with their personality characteristics and both self acceptance and personality characteristics have some predictive effect on conflict mode.
