Abstract: Objective: To explore the current status and influencing factors of self-efficacy in COPD patients, in order to provide reference for nurses to make further self-efficacy intervention strategy. Methods: Totally 109 COPD patients staying in a Respiratory Unit at 2 Tertiary hospitals in Beijing from Sept, 2013 to Dec, 2014 were collected. These patients were medically stable after treatment and took the Chronic Disease Self-Efficacy Evaluation questionnaire. T test and variance analysis were used for variable selection; Multiple regression analysis was used again to statistical significant index. Results: The average score of selfefficacy in COPD patients was only 2.89±1.86 (range from 1 to 10 for each item), and frequency of acute exacerbation, severity of disease and resident condition were influencing factors. Conclusions: The level of self-efficacy in COPD patients is relatively low,and its stronger influencing factors, especially those factors that can be intervened by nurses still need further exploration.
