Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of group management on social function of patients with schizophrenia. Methods:Totally 89 cases of hospitalized schizophrenic patients were randomly divided into two groups, 45 cases in the intervention group and the other 44 cases in the control group. All of the patients received routine treatment and care. A five-week group activity was implemented in the study group. Before and after the intervention, Scale of Social Function in Psychosis Inpatients (SSPI) and Social Skills Training (SST) rating scale were used to evaluate the effects. Results: After the intervention, both SSPI and SST total scores were better than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Combined group management with the conventional drug therapy could improve social function of schizophrenic patients and increase their daily living skills.
