Abstract: Objective: To standardize the VTE preventive nursing methods in hospital, and to provide standardized and homogeneous VTE nursing care for the inpatients. Methods: The VTE special nursing group was established in the hospital, and the group members were trained by three steps. We carried out VTE evaluation, prevention and other work on the inpatients, and managed patients with VTE using the nursing information technology system. Results: The level of VTE knowledge and skills of clinical nurses was significantly improved, and the patients received standardized and homogeneous VTE care during hospitalization. Through the application of VTE patients management platform, we followed the dynamic track of patients disease progression. Since the establishment of the group, we have published 7 nursing papers, and won 3 awards. Conclusion: The management model of VTE special nursing group improved the VTE prevention rate of VTE and the health of patients. It also provided a platform for clinical nurses to learn and communicate, standardized the behavior of nurses, and promoted the nursing care in prevention of VTE.
