Abstract: The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) training and certification is developing rapidly in China since the training and certification of CNS in Intensive Care Unit were firstly initiated in Beijing by Chinese Nursing Association in 2002. In this review, the author summarized the value of CNS certification from three aspects, including patients, nurses and employers, after reading lots of international references. The Chinese researchers could use the study methods and instruments to carry out studies in this field, multidimensional demonstrate the value of CNS certification to hospitals, society and government, and promote the development of specialty nursing.
