Abstract: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) plays an important role in promoting the human health. The idea and methods in TCM health care and "treat before sick" have been widely accepted by the people. The concepts and practice methods of TCM health care are discussed in the classic and current literatures. Based on reviewing the classic and current literatures of TCM health education, the author analyzed retrospectively the development of TCM health education and discussed the existing problems in this field in order to provide some bases for TCM in promoting the national health literacy.
