Abstract: Objective: To explore the relationship between resilience and post traumatic growth, and quality of life among colostomy patients. Methods: A total of 262 colostomy patients were investigated by general information questionnaire, the Chinese version of the CD-RISC Resilience Scale, Post Traumatic Growth Assessment Scale and the Chinese version of the Stoma-QOL questionnaire. Results: The scores of resilience, the post traumatic growth and Stoma-QOL were 69.45±14.26, 68.45±14.26 and 55.68±6.31 respectively; all of them were more than medium level. The QOL was positively correlated with resilience and the post traumatic growth (P<0.05). Age, education, household monthly income, payment manner of medical expenses, tenacity, self-reliance, optimism, new possibilities, interpersonal relationship, personal ability and the spiritual change were the influencing factors of QOL in colostomy patients (P<0.05). Conclusion: Resilience and post traumatic growth were correlated with QOL among colostomy patients, and nursing staff should improve the QOL of colostomy patients by considering their general conditions, resilience and post traumatic growth.
