Abstract: Objective: To investigate the occurrence of Sedentary Behavior (SB) and its influencing factors among women at high Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) risk. Methods: By convenience sampling, we investigated 169 women at high CVD risk from a primary health service center in Zhenjiang city, with the general situation questionnaire, Sedentary Behavior Questionnaire for the Elderly, Activity of Daily Living Scale (ADL), International Physical Activity Questionnaire-Short-Chinese version, Safety in the Home Environment Scale and family APGAR index questionnaire. Results: The SB duration of women at high CVD risk was 5.00 (3.60, 6.00) h per day, the total score of the Safety in the Home Environment Scale was 92.09±8.16 and the total score of APGAR was 7.31±2.17. Spearman correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficients between the SB duration and the safety in the home environment and APGAR was -0.417 and -0.228 respectively (P<0.01). The multiple linear regression analysis showed that age, activity of daily living, physical activity level, safety in the home environment, and family function were the main influencing factors for SB in women at high CVD risk. Conclusion: High levels of SB in women at high CVD risk are closely related to their activity of daily living, physical activity level, home environment safety and family function. Community health caregivers should promote the reduction of SB and the risk of CVD through targeted education and interventions related to favorable home environment and SB.
