Abstract: This paper introduces the current status of physical restraint in ICU patients at home and abroad, and analyzes the influencing factors of nurses' physical restraint decision making from the aspects of nurses, doctors, patients and their family members, and management. Furthermore, it provides references for the development of guidelines and norms for physical restraints in ICU patients in China and regularizes physical restraints, thus, to reduce the use of clinical physical restraints and the harm to patients due to physical restraints.
