Survey on self-protection compliance and the satisfaction towards self-protection behaviors among medical staff during the outbreak of COVID-19

Abstract: Objective: To understand the self-protection compliance and satisfaction towards self-protection behaviors among medical staff during the outbreak of COVID-19. Methods: A convenience sample of 623 medical staff was selected from a Third Level Grade A hospital in Beijing during the epidemic period. Participants were surveyed by using self-designed questionnaires via Wechat program. Results: During the epidemic period of COVID-19, self-protection compliance rate at work among medical staff was more than 60.00%. The self-protection compliance rate in daily life among medical staff who rescued Wuhan was significantly higher than that among medical staff who worked in Beijing (P<0.05). The overall satisfaction rate towards self-protection behaviors was 95.83%. The satisfaction rate among medical staff who rescued Wuhan was significantly higher than that among medical staff who worked in Beijing (P<0.001). Conclusion: During the epidemic period of COVID-19, medical staff are able to follow the principle of two-way protection and perform self-protection behaviors properly to ensure the health service for patients.
