Thoughts on the psychological health protection of first-line nurses based on COVID-19 outbreak

Abstract: As a sudden public health event, COVID-19 epidemic has increased the risk of psychological stress for nurses on the frontline. Based on the experience of our hospital, this article discussed the construction of long-term mechanism of nurses' mental health protection, and proposed strategies for psychological intervention of nurses in daily, during and post epidemic. Daily psychological construction included occupational psychological training, psychological support network construction, and occupational health nurse reserve. Psychological support during epidemic included strong leadership, standardized training, adequate protective equipment, positive motivation and timely counseling. Post-epidemic included comprehensive support to prevent post-traumatic stress disorder and continuous reflection to summarize lessons learned.
