Results: Four different types of patients were got through cluster analysis. Type I patients showed very good self-management abilities, positively and optimistically. Type II patients showed blind permissive management. Type III patients performed pessimistic and poor. Type IV patients performed poorly in emotional accommodation. Their education status, hospitalizing experience, the residence location, and professional health training experience were different among the four types of patients (P<0.05). Meanwhile, there were no difference in patients' age, gender, marital status and payment schemes (P>0.05). Conclusion: In this research, CKD patients were divided into 4 types based on their self management abilities. It could provide basis for effectively screening and implementing measures for CKD patients' management.
