Abstract: Objective: To summarize the studies related to the use of digital storytelling in cancer patients, and to provide insights on further promotion of digital storytelling in the cancer field. Methods: Using the JBI scope review guidelines as a methodological framework, a systematic search of Chinese and English databases for literature related to the use of digital storytelling in oncology patients was conducted from the inception of the database to October 30, 2024, and the included literature was summarized and analyzed. Results: A total of 13 papers were included, the digital storytelling was applied in a variety of forms and for a wide range of oncology patients, mostly practiced in hospitals, and the outcome indicators included mental health, quality of life, and social adjustment, which were assessed using scales and interviews. Conclusion: Digital storytelling, as a narrative tool, holds a promising future for application in oncology. However, there are challenges in terms of technical aspects, ethical support, and long-term effects. Future studies should validate the long-term effects of digital storytelling and combine it with multiple interventions to maximize care outcomes.
