Abstract: Objective: To investigate the current situation of mastering knowledge of Pressure Injury (PI) prevention and nursing among ICU nurses in tertiary grade A hospitals in China, analyze influencing factors, provide a basis for in-service training. Methods: From April 30th to July 30th, 2023, eligible ICU nurses from 14 tertiary grade A hospitals were selected by using purposive sampling method to independently answer the knowledge test on PI in adult intensive care patients. Using Logistic regression to analyze the influencing factors of questionnaire scores. Results: A total of 1020 valid questionnaires were obtained, with a correct answer rate of 34.3% to 89.7% for 24 questions and a score of 4 to 24 (16.10±5.58) points. There were 9 questions (37.5%) with a correct answer rate of less than 60%, included 1 question on care of stage 2 PI, 4 questions on identifying PI stages based on pictures, 1 question on the selection and use of pressure reducing mattresses for high-risk patients, 1 question on the repositioning frequency and 2 questions on the prevalence characteristics of PI in ICU patients. The pass rate of the questionnaire was 50.5%, Logistic regression showed that gender, nurse category, and ICU of different departments were the influencing factors. Conclusion: The pass rate of PI knowledge among ICU nurses in 14 tertiary grade A hospitals is only half. Due to gender, different nurse categories, and ICU positions, they mainly lack of PI staging, local treatment, pressure reducing mattresses, repositioning frequency, and epidemiological knowledge. It is recommended to increase the relevant knowledge training that ICU nurses lack when developing in-service training plans, and consider the impact of gender, nurse category, and ICU position to improve training effectiveness.
