Abstract: Objective: To explore the effects of a multidisciplinary collaborative interventional program on lactation level and postpartum Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Methods: A multidisciplinary collaborative team was organized by the professionals from obstetrics department, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the traditional Chinese medicine department, the nutrition department, and the psychological department. The parturients undergoing maternal and infant separation in the obstetrics department of a tertiary grade A hospital in Qingdao from January to October 2023 was recruited, including parturients from January to May in 2023 in the control group and parturients from June to October in 2023 in the experimental group. The parturients in the control group received routine care, while the parturients in the experimental group received the multidisciplinary collaborative interventional program. The lactation volume, the incidence of delayed initiation of lactation stageⅡand the level of postpartum PTSD were compared between the two groups. Results: There were no significant differences in lactation level on the first day and second day after delivery between the two groups. However, the lactation level on the third day and 14th day after delivery in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the control group. The incidence of delayed initiation of lactationⅡin the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The level of postpartum PTSD in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The multidisciplinary collaborative interventional program can effectively promote the normal initiation of lactationⅡphase, help to maintain sufficient lactation, and reduce the level of postpartum PTSD in parturients undergoing maternal-infant separation.
