Abstract: Objective: To explore the effect of different diet management patterns during labor on the outcome of maternal and infant delivery with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods: Based on the guidelines for the diagnosis, treatment and nursing practice of gestational diabetes mellitus and the WHO's related guidelines for improving delivery experience, a dietary management plan for the labor process of gestational diabetes mellitus was constructed. From January 2020 to September 2020, according to the order of the pregnant women entering in the delivery room, a total of 120 pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus were randomly divided into two groups based on the random number table. The observation group implemented the diet management mode of gestational diabetes mellitus during labor, and the control group implemented the management mode of free eating. Their delivery-related outcome indicators were collected and investigated. Results: The incidence of hyperglycemia, insulin usage and neonatal hypoglycemia in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). During the labor process, the time of the first stage, the active stage and the second stage of labor of the observation group were significantly shorter than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Appropriate liquid and semi-liquid diet for gestational diabetes mellitus is beneficial to maintain the blood glucose in an appropriate range in the delivery process of gestational diabetes mellitus, and reduce the occurrence of neonatal hypoglycemia.
